Since everyone is living that Zoom meeting/Zoom workout/Zoom classroom life these days, I figured I’d chime in with a (very) little try on session and share some tops to wear to a Zoom meeting. Honestly, my philosophy has been “party on top and leggings on the bottom” until I shot photos for this post and attempted to put on jeans for a least a little while. Putting on normal clothes actually felt pretty good, so I may have started a good trend for myself (and hopefully inspired you) with this one!
Tops to Wear to a Zoom Meeting
As it turns out, mirror selfies are not my strong suit so these photos are not my best work! Maybe I’ll get some practice on a few more posts while we’re home this month!
Lyndsey, the owner of The Avenue, said her son called this one a “party top” because of colorful and sparkly embroidery. It’s very fun but it is also a great elevated basic that is a twist on a plain white shirt!
If you’re looking for fun prints, Sheridan French is definitely one to check out! I bought this when it was on sale a few weeks back and am super excited to wear it with white jeans or distressed shorts this summer too. This exact print is sold out but there are 5 more prints that are in stock!
I got this top for an Easter Egg Hunt but didn’t get to wear it then, so now it’s here for Spring-y Zoom calls. This one is in a crispy poplin fabric that feels comfy but professional and also comes in lots of colors and is a great basic in blue (see below!) or for even more fun in pink lizard print! I love that it’s long enough to tuck in or wear out depending on how you feel.

A Few Extra Zoom Style Tips
Tip 1: Wear Pants // Seriously, wear pants. And I mean like pants you’d go out of the house wearing if you were going to an actual meeting or to meet your children’s teacher. So maybe skip the leggings for an hour. It’ll help you feel more professional and put together, almost like you’re in a “real” meeting!
Tip 2: Don’t Overdo It // Yes, we haven’t seen people in a while and we all want to get dressed and ready again. But, one thing at a time! Don’t break out all the pattered tops, fun jewelry and bright lipstick all at once. Pick one thing to be bold about and keep the rest simple.
Tip 3: Make Zoom Fun // I loved this post that Jennifer Lake did a while back with all the best Zoom tips and free backgrounds to use! I really need to do the background change for Jackson on his Zoom classes because he’s been asking and wants something fun. In that post she also shared a key tip to use the “Touch Up My Appearance” feature in settings. Game changer.
