Prepping treats for school for the holidays used to be something I dreaded but now I actually really look forward to putting them together! After the last few holidays, I’ve gotten better at planning ahead and I’ve even sort of created a “go-to formula” for putting together treats for the boys.
My Go-To Valentine Treats for Kids
I always start at Chickabug on Etsy to get personalized labels for each holiday. For Christmas, I did “snowman kisses” bags for Dylan and filled them with Hershey’s kisses and they have so many cute options this year for Valentine’s treats for kids! Dylan is, for who knows what reason, super into tacos right now, so he got these “Taco ’bout a good friend” labels.
Then I usually grab themed bags and ribbon on Amazon to finish out the packaging.
This year I am creating a little “Cupid’s Snack” mix for Dylan’s school treat. There are tons of options for how to do this on Pinterest, but I combined a few of them for this. My recipe includes:
- Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish
- Popcorn drizzled with melted white chocolate, pink candy melts and valentine sprinkles
- Mini pretzels
- Chocolate M&Ms
I liked this mix because it is a nut-free Valentine’s treat for kids, since so many schools request it to be that way.
Other Fun Valentine Treat Options
I put Jackson in charge of his own treat for Valentine’s Day this year so we took a little trip to Target together to pick things out. He is still super into dinosaurs so he chose to put together little bags for his friends with dinosaur erasers and organic heart lollipops (seriously his choice and I love it!). We couldn’t find dino Valentine’s cards at Target, so I found these at Paper Source – they’ve already arrived and they are SO cute!
