Happy Thanksgiving week! I feel like we’ve been talking about Thanksgiving being late for weeks and now it is finally here and part of me is saying “What happened to the rest of November?!” The last couple of weeks have been crazy around here and we spent the weekend catching up and also getting ahead (our Christmas trees are up now!).
I’m super excited about our holiday this week. It’s going to be a very low-key one for us, as it’s just the four of us for Thanksgiving. We’ll finish up getting the house ready for Christmas and also do a little shopping from the comfort of our couch. Needless to say, it’ll be a lot of comfy, a lot of cozy and hopefully very relaxing (in a lot of stretchy pants!).
An Easy Everyday Outfit Idea
And speaking of stretchy pants, let’s talk about my everyday outfit in this post. This year, for the first time ever, I did a full closet switch out. I took all of my summer clothing down to our storage closet in the basement and brought up all of my sweaters and winter clothes. It felt like shopping! It was so many things I hadn’t seen in months and it got me really excited to get ready for fall and winter.
And as it turns out, I have a lot of ponchos.
The last time I wore this Splendid poncho here on the blog, I was pregnant with Dylan. Although it’s not maternity, my mom got it for me from A Pea in the Pod and I wore it a ton during my pregnancy. It was one of the few things that I kept after the big “maternity clothes purge of 2017” because it is so soft, versatile and is the perfect length! That’s what I love about ponchos in general, they’re a great top layer to add warmth, texture and booty coverage.
Since this one is obviously not available any longer, I found a few that were similar that would be great winter wardrobe additions for an easy, everyday outfit:
- The most similar I was able to find was this cashmere poncho from Nordstrom. It comes in a couple of colors and would be great for cozy winter days or even for travel!
- If you want a little more sporty look, I love this one by UGG. It comes in 6 colors and I’ve just added it to my cart!
- To be a bit more colorful, I love this Ann Taylor plaid poncho. They showed it styled with leather leggings and it looked so chic for work!
