Work at Home Style: Statement Style

And we’re back! This edition of Work at Home Wednesday was actually supposed to be last week’s post but we got in from Disney late, and the combination of work, unpacking, laundry, parent-teacher conferences, kids’ activities and Halloween festivities in the following days made it very challenging to get back into the swing of things.

One of the perks of owning my own business, and especially one that is so digitally-based, is that I can work from anywhere. But on the flip side, because I can work from anywhere, that means I rarely take an actual day off and I tried my very best to work on vacation (and thankfully I have some great team members who were kicking butt at projects while I was on the go).

I’m working on getting blog posts up and going again this week and I hope you all have liked this series. I’d really love to hear if you’d want it to continue!

A couple of weeks ago, I showed you a cozy, casual look that’s more like my “everyday” look when I’m just spending a day working in the office. Today, you’d be lucky to see me get out of my pajamas. But when I have meetings, I do dress up a bit more. I work in a creative industry, so I like to use that as an excuse to get more creative with outfits and wear things that are maybe a little bit different.

This BURU tutu skirt is the perfect weekday to weekend statement piece. It’s actually super comfortable because it has an elastic waist and is lined so the inside isn’t itchy tulle like you might think it could be.

I also wore the skirt out to dinner at Disney with a top similar to this one, as well, and if I were dressing down even more at home, I’d try it with this henley top. So you can it’s definitely a versatile piece, and worth venturing out of your comfort zone to try it!
