What I Learned From My Reader Survey

First of all, I want to thank everyone who was kind enough to take the time to fill out my reader survey a couple of weeks ago. The winner was notified this morning, so if you took the survey, check your E-mails! I’ll update the post later if she says it’s okay to include her name as the winner here.

All of your feedback was really helpful! One of the things that made me excited is that you all were fans of some of the post ideas I had in mind, and some that you suggested were also right along the lines of things I was hoping to work on for Spring/Summer.

Photos + Things You Like

It was great to see that most people like a mix of both professional photos and ones I take myself. I’m fortunate to have a great photographer to work with, so I do have a lot of perfectly clear and crisp and pretty photos from our partnerships. Sometimes for things like random Instagram photos and even last minute post ideas I have, I’ll just do those myself, and I’m glad that doesn’t really seem to bother anyone!

A majority of people also said they like to see outfits on Instagram and the blog, and more casual inspiration was requested. Also there were lots of requests for seasonal things like recipes, activities and outfits. So I’m excited to share more of that!

Upcoming Posts

I’m going to focus on everyday outfits (mostly casual), home-related content, outfit inspiration, what we’re cooking (HIGHLY requested!) and hair and makeup tutorials in the coming weeks. Those were all things that were requested and preferred!

Some specific upcoming blog posts you can expect are:

  • My everyday makeup routine
  • Skincare updates for morning and night
  • My Results from CoolSculpting
  • Summer Shoe Round-Up
  • My On-the-Go Summer Workout
  • Summer Fitness Goals
  • What I Eat in a Week

I was also surprised at how many people asked for local content and travel-related pieces. So I’ll work on doing some of that, as well!

Instagram + LikeToKnow.It

You all told me that you want to see more of what we’re actually doing, what we’re cooking and outfit inspiration on my Instagram account. Easy enough, I can totally do that! I love posting about our meal prep, various recipes

When it comes to outfits, I’m going to do a better job of posting more casual, everyday looks because I know you all asked for those, as well.

As for LikeToKnow. It, I was surprised to hear that most of you actually like using it. I have to tell you that I was honestly skeptical that I would ever use the app itself to shop, but I actually have been using it more since that “like to get an E-mail” feature became unavailable! I’ve always liked taking screenshots of random things on Instagram anyway because they remind me of recipes I want to look up, things I want to order, etc., when I go back through my feed. And I surprisingly haven’t minded using them to get LTK outfit details. I just find myself deleting the screenshots once a week or so, and it honestly doesn’t bother me. Also, there’s a “clean up your screenshots” feature that you can use and the app will delete the photos for which you already have links.

They also just added a wish list feature where you can add products from images you’ve saved for future reference. I haven’t done this much yet, but I’ll probably give it a try to see how it works for me.

So how am I going to use LikeToKnow. It? So far, I’m planning to use it in two ways:

  1. Sharing Daily Outfits // If you follow me on the app, you’ll see a few more outfits than you will see on my Instagram feed. I’d like for my feed on Instagram to look a certain way (you’ll see that happening over the next few weeks), so I may not share everything there BUT I will put it on my LikeToKnow. It profile. I’ll try to mention this in my stories when there’s something new to see!
  2. Link my Instagram Posts // You’ll see on this page that there’s a LTK feed and the way those get there is by adding the link to those photos. So you’ll still see the link and hashtags in my posts now and again. That means you can screenshot them for details too, or just head to the app. Or do nothing, whatever you want to do!

If you don’t want to use LikeToKnow. It, I’m totally cool with that. You can find all of my shoppable Instagram posts here. On that page, you can click on any image and see the outfit details. I will also be sharing things I talk about on Stories on this page. I will ALWAYS tag the brands I wear in every post on Instagram, and will respond to any E-mails or DMs asking questions for links or details.

Other Things You’ll See Soon

Most people said they liked the idea of a weekly summary newsletter. This would be something you’d opt into separately from the existing newsletter and it will feature a round up of posts from the week, maybe a Q&A, reader requested products, etc. This will probably come sometime in June, it’s going to be a work in progress!

Finally, while most people said a lot of the items I post are “just right” on price, many people also said that some things were just too expensive. So, my goal, moving forward is to give a more budget-friendly option (or two!) to create a very similar look at a lower price point. I’d love to inspire you all to create different outfits, whether that’s shopping new pieces or creating a look with items you already have.

So that’s it for now! Again, thank you SO SO much for your feedback, both positive and constructive. Everything was helpful and will be great for working on some new things to share with you on the blog in the coming months. Stay tuned for lots of fun things!
