I hope you all had a great weekend! Honestly I think I’m still recovering from waking up early to watch the Royal Wedding on Saturday. Who else watched it? What did you think?
I really enjoyed the ceremony and the coverage of everything, but everything was SO hyped up that I was surprised by the calmness of it all. I loved the flowers outside of the church (amazing), the sweet little pageboys and flower girls and the reception dress/departure in the Jaguar. The wedding dress itself was pretty and I thought she looked lovely but it wasn’t as much of a showstopper as I had thought it might be. But they looked happy, and in love, and it was a nice happy moment and a break in the world, as we always seem to be surrounded by negativity lately.
I’m starting this week on a bright and positive note because it’s an incredibly busy week before we go out of town for Memorial Day weekend. I’m kind of obsessively checking the weather and hoping for sun and warmth but I think there’s a chance we’ll end up at the indoor water park for at least part of our weekend.
So, onto this outfit! This dress is a great day dress for casually running errands, heading to lunch and, for me, I can wear it to work. The embroidery is really sweet and it’s a nice detail to add to the simple shirtdress material – just a little something different!
I bought these Kate Spade wedges a few years ago and I’ve actually tried to sell them a couple of times but no one ever seems interested so I figured I’d just keep them. They don’t go with a lot of things but the little Eiffel Towers sort of stand out on their own and I think they’re fun. I do always love the novelty of Kate Spade’s accessories (like this purse or this ring I’m positive my kids would love), even if they’re not practical, sometimes we need to just leave that element out and go for the fun!
