Okay guys, I may carry this over into February because I SUCK at sharing outfit ideas so far this month. So if you like it, let me know if that’s a good idea!
Being sick has really thrown me for a loop and I’m spending an awful lot of time in super old yoga pants and a sweatshirt, or pajamas. I finally got on an antibiotic for my sinus infection and I would say that I’m “on the mend” but am not 100% just yet. I also got my hair done on Wednesday, so that did make me feel better
This coming week I actually have a couple of work events and things to do, so hopefully you can expect a few more exciting outfits than what I have for you today!
What I Did This Week
Can we say major clean out? I did it. My friend Leslie shared an event with me which is part of the YWCA’s Working Wardrobe program. The Working Wardrobe program provides free work-appropriate clothing to low income women who are seeking employment, starting a new job or going to school. They’re doing an event called Refashioned 2018 where you can go in and shop the Working Wardrobe closet. They’ll have volunteer stylists there to help women put together outfits.
They are taking donations for this event of clothing that is in good condition, but that you just aren’t using anymore. I have 3 huge garbage bags to drop off there next week. I really hope that they will be helpful to other women and that the ladies at Working Wardrobe can use them in their new endeavors. It made me feel good to give to this, as well as to lighten up my closet a bit! If you’re local and can donate, there’s still time. The event is on the 25th!
What I’ve been wearing the most
Like I said. Yoga pants, yoga pants, yoga pants. And have I been working out? Nope. This is basically the opposite of
But since we’re here, let’s talk about yoga pants, shall we? These are my 3 favorite pair:
- Zella Live In High Waist Leggings // I have these in a Small and am about to order an XS because I’ve lost weight but I think I’ve also stretched them out due to so much wear. I like these because they come up so high on your waist, but I also like them because there aren’t seams or markings on them, so they tuck well into boots and you can wear them as leggings with regular outfits (sweaters, tunics and such).
- Alo Yoga Goddess Ribbed Sport Leggings // These are kind of cool because starting right above your knee are ribbed panels that go to the bottom. You can bunch up the bottom part so they’re sort of like a leg warmer look. One thing, these are super long and I had several inches taken off of them so I could still bunch them but without the bulk. These are super cute with cropped sweatshirts and fun tanks to workout. I wear these in an XS, which was a size down for me when I bought them.
- lululemon Train Times Pants // These are my current favorite spinning leggings. I have them in black so I will wear them with athleisure looks, as well, but they’re so good for workouts. They are nice and high waisted and make you feel super held in and supported. Plus they stay in place really really well for workouts, so I highly recommend these! I wear them in a 4, which is a little tight when I put them on but they will stretch a bit and get more comfortable in a few minutes of wear.
Outfits I Wore
I wore this to get my hair done last week. I don’t really get all that dressed up to go to the salon, I just feel like being comfortable because I’m always there for 2- 3 hours taming this mane!
I actually wore this yesterday to take Jackson to a birthday party and then to just be around home in the evening. I love the the sweater is super flowy and open in the back (the one I linked below is similar) so you can see a bit of the lace. I wore my flat Stuart Weitzman boots to the party and then changed into slippers at home. Of all the boots I own, those were my favorite splurge and I really do get a ton of wear out of them!
Zella Leggings (see I told you I wear these a lot) // Ferne Boutique Top // Bralette from Ferne Boutique (super comfy, worth getting in a couple of colors!) // During the day I wore: Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots (less expensive version here) // Similar slippers
Another athleisure look that I wore to run a few errands and grab Jackson from school. This vest is my favorite, I wear it all the time. And the top under it is from lulu. It’s brushed inside so it is really warm without being heavy or bulky!
