Since my last beauty post was all about current skincare favorites, I wanted to do another one about some of my current color favorites.
When it comes to color, there are a lot of days where I don’t wear makeup or at least don’t want to look like I’m wearing makeup. Even when I’m made up for a I tend to stay pretty neutral and I try to keep it as easy as possible.
I’m also trying out something a little new with my collages. All of the products below are clickable. So if you want more information on any of the featured items, or are potentially interested in purchasing them, clicking will take you to the retailer so you can do so. I’d love to hear if you’d rather see all of my collages done this way in the future or if you prefer the listing of items better!
When you’re going for easy and fast, palettes are the way to go. These three have been in my daytime rotation for a little while now and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. The Le Metier de Beaute palette is really soft and feminine, so I like to use it when I’m getting a little more ready for the day. When I need something to just grab quickly, the CoverGirl palette is the one I choose. This one is also a super quick drugstore buy, so if you ever run out it’s super easy to access. I use the Laura Mercier palette when I want to wear a little bit more makeup. It’s also been my go-to travel palette because it’s easy to create both daytime and nighttime looks with all of the colors. Plus, on that one, I think the purple adds a bit of a unique touch and it looks really cool on!
Other Eye Products
I love trying new brow products and this Le Metier de Beaute brow pencil is really light and gives my brows a very soft finish. I actually use the “Natural Blonde” color, which may be a little surprising. It fills in so lightly that I like to wear it on those “not wearing makeup” days so that my brows are finished but very neutral.
I’ve raved about this Trish McEvoy mascara and I had to mention it again because I’m now on my 2nd tube of it. It lengthens, curls and now that I’m seeing results from my lash serum, I like it even more. The other thing I LOVE about this one is how it comes off. When you take it off (with just warm water and your normal cleanser), you basically remove it in strands. It gently comes off of your lashes and just washes away so easily, leaving no residue. It’s amazing. If you are in the market for a new mascara, I highly recommend this one.
This Aveda eyeliner was a bit of a surprise color love for me. It’s a golden hue with a little bit of shimmer. Again, a thin line of it is great for “no makeup” days, but it also goes really well with that Laura Mercier palette to add a bit of shimmer for nighttime. It’s also a really smooth application, which I like and it stays on very nicely.
These are a couple of products that I really like for perfecting my under eye area. The Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift is a product I use every single day. It really does brighten and lift your under eye area and I love that it makes me look more awake – and lately I really need that.
This Le Metier de Beaute Brightening and Setting Powder is a new addition to my routine and I’m a big fan of it so far. I use it to set my under eye concealer and I feel like it adds some brightness and luminosity there. I also use it over my eye shadow base for a “no makeup” look, which has a really pretty, soft look to it.
Stay tuned for a full post on some lipstick favorites in the next couple of weeks!
