These upcoming last weeks of December seem to be the busiest. We’ve got parties, play dates, house guests and so many things going on, and I’m sure you all do too. I hate showing up to events empty handed and I got a little tired of bringing the same old thing, so today I’m partnering with Meijer to show four hostess gift ideas for different occasions.
One of the many things I love about putting together gifts like this at Meijer is that it is SO easy. I’m there grocery shopping 1-2 times a week and it makes my gift shopping effortless. Plus, there are so many department and options, that no matter what budget you’re working with, you’ll always be able to find something that’s a perfect present.
I love taking a little something to a play date to say thank you for hosting (and letting our children make a mess of your home). For this one, I made a combined present for the parents and child. These chocolate covered pretzels are always a hit and can be made themed for any season (see how we did them for Halloween here). I added a fun, inexpensive craft and a festive straw cup (Jackson LOVES these) in the cutest holiday bag. It’s the perfect little package for your little one to carry in and gift to their friends.
My most frequently used hostess gift go-to is wine. I’m also a big fan of receiving it. But I wanted to up my wine gifting game a bit, so this one is a wine and chocolate tasting gift bag. I went with a little reindeer theme on this one and dressed up a favorite bottle of red wine with a holiday sweater and continuing that theme with napkins and a classic houndstooth bag. These Green & Black chocolate bars are available in a variety of flavors in the candy aisle and their simple, sophisticated packaging really adds something special to this gift – plus they’re really tasty!
Girls Night Gifting
Whether you have a friends gift exchange, book club or a girls night in planned for New Year’s Eve, this spa gift is going to be perfect. I decided to gather up the products to create two at home spa treatments: a manicure and facial. For my manicure, I picked two festive Essie nail colors, a manicure kit and some Burt’s Bees Hand Cream. Then I chose a headband, eye mask and L’Oreal clay mask for the facial. I included a festive winter candle to create a little ambiance and found this chic striped cosmetic bag to pack it all up and wrapped it in a very traditional style for gifting.
The Breakfast Basket
This gift is not only a great one for parties during the holiday, but can easily be recreated throughout the year for many occasions. We all know that the last thing you want to do after you’ve hosted an event is put together another meal, so I love the idea of bringing someone breakfast for the morning after their party. This breakfast basket included a bowl for mixing up some delicious muffins (and for use to decorate with after because it’s so pretty), coordinating napkins and mugs (along with some rich hot chocolate). You could also send along coffee or mimosa ingredients, depending on what you know your hostess will like. This gift is one of my favorites because the pieces all go together but can really be used afterward.
Thanks so much to Meijer for partnering on this post.
