What to Wear for Thanksgiving

Wasn’t it just Halloween yesterday? And have you started decorating for Christmas yet? I have to admit that I started pulling out little bits of Christmas decor about two days after Halloween and continue to add a little more every day.

Thanksgiving seems to be a forgotten holiday this year! In fact, my mom and I just started talking yesterday about our menu and plans. I’ve put myself in charge of green bean casserole (trying this recipe) and cloverleaf rolls. I have never made either, but I know that they are both pretty traditional so I’m looking forward to giving them a try!

We usually make Thanksgiving pretty relaxed around here. The boys will be in school on Wednesday, so I’ll spend that day prepping and even setting the table to make the to do list for Thanksgiving Day a little bit shorter. On Thanksgiving morning, I try to go to a Pure Barre class and then come home for a light breakfast and some relaxing around the house. Jackson loves watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and then without a doubt, he’ll want to head into the kitchen and help.

So, there is one thing I’ve planned ahead of time. Let’s talk about the outfit plan and what to wear for Thanksgiving.

This type of morning requires an easy outfit and I picked up this cozy Aztec cardigan and mesh panel leggings (similar here) from Ferne Boutique. Ferne has lots of similar cozy looks in store right now, including great ponchos and more sweaters to pair with leggings.

When it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, we like to get at least a little bit dressed up. It’s a fancier than normal meal, and we always like to take a few family photos. This gray layered midi dress with a long cardigan is comfortable and super cozy. I’m a little bit more comfortable with my Spanx underneath this dress, but that may be a personal preference (I pretty much live in my Spanx these days anyway!).

As a post-Thanksgiving heads up, I wanted to give you the details on what’s happening at Ferne Boutique for Black Friday. There will be a stocking full of discounts. You can pull a discount out of the stocking (10% up to 50% off) and receive that off of your total purchase on Black Friday Only.

Thanks to Ferne Boutique for partnering on this post.

Your outfits are so on point! I especially love the grey dress and am so down with the Spanx (especially on Thanksgiving, haha). Love your fall planters too, btw. Gorgeous!
