Everyday Beauty: Trish McEvoy Makeup Planner

Everyday beauty should be simple. Everyday beauty should be quick. And everyday beauty should be pretty.

For today I’m really excited to share more about the Trish McEvoy Makeup Planner with you. It’s changing the way I do my weekday makeup and I’ve really loved getting to use it and getting to know more about Trish McEvoy’s philosophy and products.

First of all, I can’t believe I didn’t know about this product sooner. I had a Trish McEvoy consultation with Shuston at Neiman Marcus at the Somerset Collection and, as she went through the 8 Step Makeup Lesson with me, I was so impressed by the line and more excited about it than I have been about many color collections in recent memory.

I like that, with the exception of my foundation, everything I need to create a few different makeup looks is in one pretty cosmetic bag. The colors in the kit are really light and beautiful, but let me tell you about a few of my favorite products in this Power of Makeup Planner:

  • Gel Eyeliner // What I love about the gel eyeliner is actually the technique that you use to apply it. You hold the pencil upright and dot between your eyelashes from underneath (I’ll demo this on Snapchat and Insta stories so you can see how to do it). I found that it really opens your eye and creates that “I’m not wearing makeup” eye look.
  • Instant Eye Lift // You apply this product in a large triangle from the inner corner of your eye, down to the end of your nose and back up to the outside of your eye. I blend mine with a beauty blender and then set with the translucent powder included in the kit. I felt like this really brightened up my under eye area and lasted all day.
  • Lash Curling Mascara // This is easily my favorite mascara right now! I still curl my eyelashes but I feel like this really adds volume and length to them. I also love that it doesn’t smudge and when you go to wash it off at night, it comes off almost as fibers, and you don’t have to use makeup remover with it.

This has also been an awesome product for traveling! I have it on this trip with me and it made packing so easy! I always have a separate bag for my skincare, so I just put my brushes and my foundation (plus a few random accessories like my brow pencil and lash curler) in this bag and I was good to go. I could definitely see adding another “page” to my planner with some neutral eyeshadow shades, along with another color eye pencil to add more variety. But it’s a really compact way to travel with your products and I’ve really liked it a lot.

The Power of Makeup Planner is absolutely worth trying (and now I really want the brush set!), and it’s even more helpful to have someone from Trish McEvoy to talk you through it. To set up an appointment with Shuston at Neiman Marcus, you can call 248.643.3300, ext. 2101
