Winter Beauty Update

It’s been a minute since I’ve done a big beauty update post so I figured I’d take some time to catch you all up on what I’ve been using and share a few things that would be great for a winter beauty update. As you read on, you’ll see that these winter beauty favorites are all things that I’ve really liked and I’ve kept out the misses for this particular post!

And bear with me on this one, it’s a LONG one but I wanted to give lots of details on these mini-reviews!

Winter Beauty Favorites

Winter Beauty Favorites for Skincare + Hair

TULA Beauty Sleep Overnight Skin Rescue Cream

Tula sent this product to me about a month ago and I have REALLY loved using it! I most often use it on my “exfoliate” or “mask” nights, which are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and I definitely notice that my skin is firmer and more hydrated after using it. It has Vitamin C for brightening, probiotics and natural extracts for improving the look of fine lines and wrinkles and AHA to boost firmness and smoothness. I also love this product for nights where I’m too tired and don’t want to do a full routine. So I’ll cleanse and use this, and I feel like I’m doing something really good for my skin!

Olaplex Bond Smoother

When I find hair products I like, I rarely change them up, but I was about to run out of my Davines Relaxing Fluid (which I still really like and highly recommend!) right around my last hair appointment, so my stylist, Becca, recommended that I give this Olaplex product a try. She had used it in my hair before and I loved how it worked so I was excited to change it up! I LOVE this stuff! It makes my hair feel so soft and smooth, plus I really feel like it helps cut down my dry and style time. You need so little of it that I feel like the bottle is going to last me a while, but I’ll definitely be repurchasing this one!

BeautyBio Radiance Body Oil

I bought this body oil as soon as it came out but didn’t really start using it till more recently – really when the weather got cold and my skin got super dry. If you’ve never tried a body oil, I highly recommend you try this one. First, it adds a great amount of  moisture to your skin. I even layer mine on top of lotion when I need an extra boost. Next, it gives your skin a beautiful, soft sheen and glow without being at all oily! It’s truly amazing, your skin will drink this stuff up and you’re left with smooth, glowy skin and you don’t have to worry about getting oil on your clothes. Finally, you can also use this on your cuticles or ends of your hair to add some moisture. I like it a lot on my nails because I’m so bad at keeping up with manicures and I feel like this helps keep my hands look better!

BeautyBio Quench Eye

Good eye creams are tough to get, but here’s an amazing one! I find that my undereye area is fairly dry (especially at this time of the year) so this is my daytime eye cream. It has the texture of a balm, so it’s a bit thicker and you immediately see an improvement in your undereye area. Plus My makeup wears well over it without creasing or melting, and it makes my skin feel hydrated and soft. Amazingly I actually do use the little spatula that comes with it, and you barely need any of the product to see the results!

Colleen Rothschild Micro Mineral Scrub

This is one of the newest launches at Colleen Rothschild and I’ve been using it at least once a week since receiving it! It has Rose Quartz and Rosehip Oil and is such a great scrub. The “grit” of the scrub is really small, so you can work it into your skin without much effort and it really exfoliates well. It’s actually a very soothing scrub, so your skin feels soft and not irritated after using it. I do also highly recommend pairing it with the new Micro Mineral Soothing Toner. It also uses Rose Quartz and other minerals to calm and soothe the skin. And it smells like roses – it’s really lovely!

Tan Luxe Super Glow Serum

I’m usually pale by choice, but I got a little bit of sun when we were at Disney and remembered how much I liked having a tan! So I’m trying to get better about self tanning. I’m pretty terrible at it, so having a product like these drops that is buildable is amazing! The serum itself has hyaluronic acid in it, which is a great ingredient for hydrating the skin, so these drops give you color and glow all at the same time. I’ll do this on days I exfoliate so that my skin is fresh!

HUM Nutrition Collagen

I have been taking HUM Nutrition supplements for about 8 months now and I cannot say enough good things about them. I take a probiotic and I take this collagen supplement daily. I was drinking my collagen in my coffee but, truthfully, I kept forgetting to take it, so I grabbed these and take them every evening. I have definitely noticed that my nails are stronger and grow faster, and my hair does, as well!

Winter Beauty Favorites for Makeup

KKW Classic Eye Shadow Palette

I was excited to find out that KKW Beauty was now going to be available in Ulta stores so the day it happened, I ran right over there to buy this and a lip liner. I am not a Kim Kardashian fan, I don’t watch their show and I would typically not buy her branded products but I really loved how this palette looked so I got it. And I like it. Kind of a lot.

It’s a warm palette, which I have not necessarily liked in the past (I feel like it made me look more yellow and even more tired!) but I feel like there is a good mix of colors here that brighten you up. The mattes are really creamy, soft and buildable, and the metallics can be used wet or dry to be big and bold or add just a pop of something fun. I’ll plan to do an IGTV video soon on how I use it!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

I get probably more compliments when I wear this palette than any other eyeshadow palette I currently own. I personally love purple-ish shadows to bring out brown eyes so this one, with rosy and purpley shades has become my go-to!

On this one, I’ve found that I can use all of the shades in some way. Sometimes I’ll use darker ones as a liner or to create more of a smoky eye. There are also some metallics that are really great for brightening up the inner corners of your eye. It’s a super versatile palette that I highly recommend trying!

KKW Beauty Nude Lip Liner

So this is my other KKW purchase and I really like it too! I honestly should have bought a lip color to go with it, but I didn’t. So I’ve been wearing the liner and topping it with this Clarins lip product I’ve used and loved for years. It’s seriously the perfect nude combination!

I do recommend you go in store and try a few on your hand to see which color you like best, but also, grab a lipstick with it! I’m going back for one this week.
