I can hardly believe how fast this summer is flying by! I was sitting at Jackson’s swim lessons the other day and when a few moms and I were chatting, we all realized that our school supply lists were available and that, now that the 4th of July is over, the countdown to “back to school” is really about to begin.

Back to school time is really one of my favorite times of year. My mom will tell you that I’ve always loved school shopping and I used to look forward to it every year – and still do, maybe even more so now as a parent. I also use it as an excuse to restock things around the house that we’ve gone through during the busy summer months. A few months ago, I reorganized our “linen closet” to be better storage for all of the “essentials” so that we could more easily see what we have or what we need. When it comes to the basics, we never seem to have enough Kleenex® Brand Ultra Soft Facial Tissues, and it’s always on the school supply list, as well. We always do the Ultra Soft because it’s strong and the most gentle on the boys’ little noses.

Also always on our school supply (and home restock!) list is Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes. I like them around the house because they’re quick and easy for cleaning up messes, and they kill 99.9% of germs (when used on hard porous surfaces, as directed).

It’s also definitely time to restock the “Boo Boo Box” with bandages and medicine.  Jackson learned to ride on two wheels this summer, so between that and the boys normal craziness, we’re running low on bandages. The BAND-AID® Brand SKIN-FLEX™ Bandages are awesome because they really stay on, even through hand washing and all of the other things the little, busy hands around our house get into. Finally, we do a medicine restock. The little colds and germs always seem to make their way home once school starts up again, so I have Children’s TYLENOL® around for fevers at all times because it’s the #1 Pediatrician-recommended brand and it’s gentle on the kids’ tummies. I also recently found out about Zarbee’s Naturals® Children’s Cough Syrup + Mucus. I like that it has natural ingredients like honey and English Ivy leaf extract. It’s safe and effective with no artificial sweeteners or dyes.

Since our summer schedule is still pretty packed, it’s been really convenient to use the Walmart Online Grocery service to put together a quick list and pick it up in between lessons, camps and other errands. I’ll usually sit down and put items in my cart using the app and then set a pickup time that works.

At pickup, someone brings things out to the car and then you’re on your way. It’s so quick and easy, and you’re still getting the same savings you get when you shop in store. Check to see if Walmart stores near you have this service and get to shopping!
