In January I did two of those 31 in 31 challenges where there was a new activity to do every day to clean, declutter, simplify or in some way improve how you start your new year. One of those things was to go through your medicine cabinet and get rid of anything that was expired, as well as make a plan to stock up on new products that you reach for often and make sure you’re ready for the season ahead.
Talk about good timing, right?
I always dread cold and flu season around our house. With both kids in school they’re sure to bring home germs that we inevitably get ourselves, so being prepared and also doing our best to prevent sickness are huge priorities around here all season long.
So, let’s go back to the idea of stocking up your medicine cabinet to take on this season. I like to keep a variety of things around and, thankfully, one good shopping trip to Kroger has me covered!
On my List
Robitussin® Maximum Strength Honey Cough & Chest Congestion DM: You always hear that honey is good for a cough and that’s what really got me the most interested in this product. Plus, Robitussin® has always been a go-to brand for me when it comes to cough relief so the addition of True Source Certified Honey only makes it better!
Theraflu Power Pods Daytime Severe Cold: These are the perfect product for managing your symptoms when you have a cold. They help relieve congestion, headaches, sore throat, minor aches and more. Plus, you make them in a single-serve coffee maker so when you feel awful and don’t want to do ANYTHING, it doesn’t get much easier to get powerful relief without a prescription! (Please note- do not use Theraflu Power Pods Daytime (or Nighttime) Severe Cold & Robitussin® Maximum Strength Honey Cough & Chest Congestion DM together at the same time).
Abreva® Pump Cold Sore and Fever Blister Treatment: While we don’t have a problem with cold sores at our house, this is a just in case product for us to have on hand. It treats cold sores at the first sign and nothing works better than Abreva. With seasonal guests around and our moms group (who shares all recommendations and quick “down the street” needs!), it’s good to have on hand!
Clearly, preparation and prevention go hand in hand. And speaking of hands, we are telling the boys to wash their hands probably no less than 100 times a day these days and we’re doing the same.
One of my New Year’s “to dos” was also to work on drinking more water throughout the day, really just for overall health and wellness of my body. I’ve also tried to switch out coffee for tea in the afternoons and I love the Lipton Daily Support Herbal Tea.* It is made with botanicals and essential oils for overall wellbeing and it’s just delicious. A cup of tea always makes me feel so much better on any day – plus the warmth and coziness at this time of year is always welcome!
We’re also doing our best to keep up with vitamins and along with a daily multivitamin and calcium (especially since I don’t eat dairy), Emergen-C Immune+® Super Orange Gummies have been a great addition to my routine! It has Vitamin C and Vitamin D with Zinc for immune support and it’s just an overall great everyday addition – plus, if we’re being honest, the gummies are actually quite tasty and a gummy vitamin has become my preferred formulation lately!*
Right now is a great time to do the stock up for yourself. Head to Kroger today!
