Best Vest

Hello from Atlanta! I’m here for the weekend attending The Blog Societies conference (my first blog conference in about 3 or 4 years) and am excited to get into everything today with workshops, networking and what I hope will be some creative inspiration for my blog and for my client work.

I’ve said this a few times, but this summer has been unexpectedly busy for me. Honestly, I should have expected it, but I thought that because I scheduled so many things for Jackson (and Dylan is at day care) that my days would be fairly normal and that I could totally handle it.

Wrong.

I have truly been overwhelmed by the mom/work/life must-dos and the lack of a true schedule. Don’t get me wrong, there has been a lot of fun things and I’m glad that I’ve had more one-on-one time with Jackson these last couple of months, but I’m ready for things to feel normal and have a little bit of mind time back.

I think all of that makes me even more glad to be here and be taking part in something a little different for a weekend. So I’m hoping to come back refreshed and reenergized for fall!

And speaking of fall, this vest was one of the items I included in a post a while back for transitional pieces. This was a casual way to wear it with jeans, but I actually brought it for this weekend and plan to wear it over a navy dress. As things cool down, I think it would also be good over an all-black outfit with leggings (or jeans if you’re into real pants) and a long-sleeved tee or turtleneck with boots.

I’m really getting excited to shop for some fall clothes and do some fall outfits in the next few weeks. Are you all ready for that? Or should I stick to summer for a while?

Have a fantastic weekend and stay tuned for a REALLY exciting house post coming next week!
