MAC Patrickstarr Palette

I feel like it has been a long time since I’ve done a beauty post on here! They’re some of my favorite to put together but they do take a little longer than other posts. For starters, I like to actually spend time trying products for a while to see if I like them or if I’m any good at applying them.

I saw this palette on one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram, Lindsey Regan Thorne. Lindsey is a makeup artist so I love following her and getting her product recommendations. When she shared this MAC palette (which is ON SALE for under $20!), I thought it was so pretty and I immediately purchased it.

One of the things I’ve found that I love most about this palette is that it’s really great for creating an everyday look, but also super easy to add more color and make it more dramatic. The way I did it for this post is how I will do my makeup for meetings, dressed up for daytime or even when I do a photo shoot for the blog.

Creating the Look

So I usually start with my eyes, so that I can clean up any “fall out” or product that gets underneath my eyes. I use a primer first and then get right to the palette. I use the lightest color all over my lid, up to the brow, and then I use the “rose gold” sort of color all over my lid. With the brown color, I use it in my crease, adding more here for evening or more drama. Last I do the plum color (which is SO pretty) just in my corner, which is also buildable and can be more dramatic if you want. This color would also be great for a powder liner if you like to do that!

For my liners, I use the MAC Kohl on my upper lash line and it’s my favorite black liner I’ve come across to date. For my lower lash line, I first do the L’Oreal Infalliable liner in nude on my waterline to brighten, and then dot the Chanel Liner (which is waterproof) at my lash line. Also, you all know that I love the IT Cosmetics Superhero mascara but I’ve been trying this Honest Beauty Truly Lush Mascara lately and really do love it, as well. It comes with a primer and I’m a fan of that!

I have a darker undereye area so I try to brighten that up as much as possible after I do my eyes. I start with the BECCA Brightening Corrector, blend it with a BeautyBlender, and then do the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Corrector and blend it, as well.

I highlight on my cheekbones with this Kosas highlighter and LOVE it. I also use the darker color as a contour on my “no makeup” days. It’s a fabulous product and I highly recommend it!

This lip color from Urban Decay (Backtalk) is my favorite one right now. I also have been using this 37 Actives treatment for plumping and moisturizing, and I’ve really liked it, as well!
