Happy Friday, friends! I am ending this week on such a good feeling, it has been productive and happy and I am ready to enjoy our weekend and get heading up to the lake for the 4th of July.
Before getting into the “out of my comfort zone” fashion in today’s post, a little real life reflection on summer so far. It’s been an “out of our comfort zone” summer for us so far with Jackson for sure. He’s been doing day care in the summers since we moved here and, last year, we discovered that just wasn’t for him. He really needs change and challenge so we signed up up for camp after camp, plus swim lessons and tennis lessons this summer. The last 2 weeks have been crazy busy but he has done so amazingly well, and I’m so pleased that we took a chance and tried something new. It’s been a good little lesson to us to really follow our instincts, be flexible and do our best to make things work. I spent a lot of time in the car that first week, but seeing my happy, sleepy boy at the end of each day made it all worth it.
I just wanted to share our experience a little bit because I know it was a challenge for us to make a change like this, and it wasn’t the “easy way to do summer.” But the results are really showing that it was the right way.
Okay, moving on. This dress is also a bit of something new for me. I actually bought it on Poshmark from a girlfriend of mine, Carrie (whose colorful blog and style you can see here). I remembered seeing her in it a couple of years ago and LOVING it. So, when she sold it on the app for a crazy discounted price, I jumped on it.
Colorful dresses, or colorful pieces in general, aren’t usually my thing, but this dress was just so unique and cool that I had to have it.
And as a side note, this bar is in Downtown Bay City and is called Public House. It’s super cool and I couldn’t resist adding the photogenic pineapple cocktail to the shoot for this dress!
