Meghan Markle-Inspired Outfits

Okay guys, I’m ROYAL WEDDING-obsessed! I’ve planned to make a little lemon lavender loaf, I ordered this tea and I can’t wait to watch it. I am, however planning to DVR the whole thing and then watch it when I have some time to myself, because we have to do a fun run and breakfast with with the boys on Saturday morning – and I don’t think it is likely that I will be waking up at 4:00 AM to watch it.

So, inspired by this celebratory week, I’ve putting together a little Meghan Markle-inspired style post. When I was in business school, I used to be really good at recreating celebrity-inspired looks I saw online at a lower price point (grad school = tighter budget), so that’s what I’ve decided to do again here! These are a couple of recent looks that I’ve drawn inspiration from and replicated with a twist.

Look #1

For this one, I went with the same general idea with the button front dress + blazer combo, but changed it up in color. I’ve been wanting to shop the Gal Meets Glam collection and this dress was already on my radar so when I was searching to create this look, I knew where to start. I think it’s a really pretty dress that would be great for events during the summer, with or without the blazer.

Otherwise, this look is made up of wardrobe staples you’ll get a ton of use out of. I have these nude pumps in white (you’ve seen them here and here) and they’re awesome. They’re super comfortable, fit true to size and are worth buying in a couple of colors. I also have this Missoma ring (along with this one), but if you want to check out other gold rings to complete this look, try BaubleBar.

If you want a more exact look: Try this white denim dress (also here) + this black blazer

Look #2

When I try to create “inspired by” looks, the main thing I look for is the shape and style of a piece, which is what I did with this dress and found it in this gorgeous CMEO dress. I actually have a really similar one (which you’ve seen here) and it’s a great go-to when you don’t know what to wear. Red can be a little intimidating, but my view is to embrace color and get out of your comfort zone. I know when I do, I feel lighter, happier and get so many compliments!

The accessories with this look are very similar to the first one but I mixed it up a bit with the bags. This gingham bag is a little fun, so I had to include it here as an option, but if you want a staple basic, this The Daily Edited clutch is exactly what you need – and it comes in black too!

If you want a black wrap dress, I love this one for $100!

Look #3

Okay so I actually have this whole outfit and this is the reason I bought it. I wore this a couple of weeks ago to a play and got a lot of compliments about the color and how light and springy the look comes together.

You’d be surprised at how many ways you will wear this pink blazer. It goes just as well with jeans and a tee as it does with this dress.
