Spring Trench + Fun Flats

Something that resembles Spring is happening around here, and I’m so happy about it! After that ice storm we had the weekend before last, I was pretty much at my wits end with winter. We all had a serious case of cabin fever after being stuck in the house for all of this time, and I’m pretty sure nothing good can come of that.

Over this past weekend, it was GORGEOUS outside! On Saturday I had a client event and then we had a Taekwondo tournament for Jackson – his first one. He didn’t get a trophy but he handled losing very well (which we’ve been working on teaching him) and we were so proud of him. He actually said to me “Mommy, I just got my orange stripe belt, so I haven’t learned everything yet.” Hello proud mom moment.

On Sunday we spent the day outside grilling, taking bike rides and just enjoying the day! There’s something about the sunshine that is giving me more energy and motivation to be productive and I’m trying to take advantage of that this week.

Earlier in the week last week, I also finally got to get back outside for blog photos and (among others) we took these! The sunshine is great and hopefully the warmth is coming but I took it as an excuse to break out some Spring coats, including this trench that I think I’ve had for like 3 years and have worn maybe twice. It’s cute, right? I’m going to try and wear it more this year because it’s a great staple to have in my wardrobe.

Everything about this outfit has been getting a good amount of wear lately and I’m not sick of any of it. I have to tell you that I especially love these new Rothy’s flats. I found these through a friend on Instagram who said they were crazy comfortable – and they come in so many colors and two other styles (loafer and round toe flat). They’re made from recycled water bottles, which should make you feel good about buying a couple pair. I really want these leopard flats and this blue python pair – as you can tell, the points are my favorite!

Before you go, if you have a chance, please fill out my reader survey! I will be choosing a giveaway winner tomorrow from all of the people who leave their E-mail address (there’s a line for it in the survey) and the winner can choose a Sephora or Kendra Scott gift card. Thank you in advance for the feedback – I’ll be sharing all of the results next week!
