The Cuties are back! We look forward to “Cutie season” every year because Jackson is pretty darn obsessed with them. I usually buy the 3 pound bag to fill up the fruit bowl and Jackson immediately starts digging in. We’ll send them with him to school for snack time or lunch, and they’re frequently requested to go with lunch and dinner at home, as well. He also gets a nightly “sweet” while we play our pre-bedtime board game, and if we have Cuties around, he’ll choose one for his sweet!
So obviously (and thankfully!), Jackson is big into fruits and vegetables (and I wish his brother would follow suit on that!), so he sees his Cuties as a little bit of a treat. They’re fun, sweet and he can peel them himself, which is one of those “big boy” things that he gets super excited about.
Now, I’m not super crafty but we wanted to make our Cuties even more fun, so we turned them into emojis! This worked out so well because Jackson was on an emoji kick after attending an emoji-themed birthday party so he was all about creating Cuties-emojis with me. Truth be told, he asked if he could draw a poop emoji (typical boy question) but I told him that since Cuties were round and orange already, that they really worked better for smiley faces and sunglasses.
I thought these would also be fun for a day like Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 16, where he could take a smiley little treat to his teacher or even bring one to each kid in his class to share some sweetness! These would also even be cute little Valentine’s for school parties and playdates, or you can do them on your own to brighten up your child’s lunchbox!
