The Stylish Mama’s Guide to the Holidays: Mackenzie-Childs

Holiday Bar Mackenzie Childs ONEHOPE

This year was the earliest that I’ve ever decorated our house for Christmas. Some of it was blog-related but I also just started feeling really festive the week before my birthday (mid-November), so I just gradually started bringing things out.

I love the idea of setting up little themed areas of our house. I think from a design standpoint they’re supposed to be called “vignettes” but that seems a little fancy for the toy-covered home that we currently live in.

One of my favorite spots in our house is our downstairs sunroom. While it also serves as our guest bedroom, we hang out in there most often in the evenings after the kids go to bed to watch The Crown, drink wine and just relax. With the intention of making it a cozier space, when we decorated it, we painted this room a charcoal/navy gray and added a printed sofa and the media cabinet from our Houston house. The room also perfectly fit the bar cabinet we purchased for our Houston living room, and it’s a great little spot to decorate for the holidays.

I always set up the bar for Halloween and, this year, I had the opportunity to set it up for Christmas when our Mommy Monday group partnered with Mackenzie-Childs. What I really wanted was for our bar to be very “classic Christmas” and I think the pieces I chose definitely accomplished that.

While a lot of our house is decorated in white, silver and blue for the holidays, this little space is perfect for a traditional setup in red and green with a little bit of sparkle. I love how the glittery candles and ONEHOPE glitter bottle add some shimmer to the classic painting of the candlesticks and the nutcracker bottle stopper

And can we talk about these adorable Lettermade cocktail napkins? They’re the latest collaboration from the brand and I felt like they were a great addition to the traditional fun of our new bar display.

See how the other ladies from our Mommy Monday group are styling their homes with Mackenzie-Childs this holiday – and tune in to Instagram tonight for a great giveaway!
