Happy Friday! I’m really glad to see the weekend and this week seemed a little longer than usual. I’ve been looking forward to a few things coming up so maybe that’s why. To start, it is my 35th birthday on Sunday. We have no really big fun plans but lots of laying low and spending time at home with the boys and doing a few of my favorite things.
Clint asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner, what he could make for dinner or whatever I wanted to do. My choice? A giant cheese and charcuterie platter to snack on all weekend. It’s not something we do very often but I’m super excited to pick this up this afternoon. I love stuff like that and when it comes to cheese, I say the stinkier the better. Jackson and Dylan are also oddly big fans of these platters, so I’ll do my best to share.
I’m also excited to work on some holiday content over the weekend and I’ll be shooting gift guides, holiday outfits and a few other things that you’ll see on the blog in the coming weeks. This also means the that our Christmas tree is coming out of storage. Partially because I want to take some holiday photos with it and also partially because I’m ready to get the festivities started.
When it comes to outfit posts around here, have you noticed a trend in my clothing color palette lately? Lots of gray, white, black and these burgundy shoes. I bought these shoes forever ago but I’m really finding lots of excuses to wear them lately.
This dress is SO comfortable and one that I highly recommend – it comes in a darker gray and navy too. It’s super soft cashmere and it’s great to layer. I want to try it with a striped tee and boots next, but it was pretty darn great to have these Spanx Arm Tights underneath. The Arm Tights are sort of like a cropped shirt that is smoothing underneath without the bulk. I also wore regular Spanx shorts underneath this for more hip/waist/booty smoothing.
