Even though it’s my favorite month (because my birthday is in a couple of weeks), I can hardly believe that it is November! I remember seeing a few weeks ago when someone posted that there were 15 Saturdays until Christmas and that sounded crazy but now there are only eight. That’s eight weekends to decorate, shop, and generally fill up with activities and holiday insanity.
I’m sure I’m not alone in this, but I tend to but a ton of pressure on myself around this time of year. It’s pressure to decorate the house and have it be perfect, to have great (and helpful) holiday blog content and to make sure we plan absolutely every possible festive thing for the boys to do so they don’t look back and say “Hey, remember that one year we didn’t make sugar cookies?”
Okay, that last one is probably unlikely. But with Jackson’s steel trap of a memory, I wouldn’t exactly put it past him.
With all of the craziness and self-imposed pressure, I’m trying to do my best to just stay organized and on top of things. I’m marking myself “interested” in events on Facebook (because thankfully that will give me reminders!) and taking just 5-10 minutes every morning to update my calendar and make a “Sticky Note” on my desktop (anyone else on a Mac LOVE that?) with things to look into, call on, or do. Just those few minutes every day have been helpful in making me feel like I have things in order!
What are you doing to keep yourself ahead of the crazy going into the holidays?
The Wish List
So, I actually saw this top at Neiman Marcus during the event I co-hosted with The Barre Code in September and was really tempted to buy it back then. Then I forgot about it until I randomly started athleisure shopping last week. It’s obviously a cropped top, but it looks awesome when you wear high waisted leggings with it, and you get no tummy showing when you do it that way.
A few other things I have to point out on this wish list are:
- I love the NEST Fragrances holiday candle at this time of year (or really any time), and I saw this new Sugar Cookie scent the other day. I’m going to check it out in store next week but knowing NEST, I’m sure it’s light, sweet and just lovely!
- How cool are these velvet platform sneakers? They sort of remind me of middle school, but much, much cooler.
- I have been recently researching more supplements for my diet (and just general diet changes!), and I came across these TULA probiotics. Since their skincare is probiotic-based, and I really like it, I’m already pretty confident that these would be a great addition to my routine!
