Happy First Day of Summer!
I’m unusually excited about summer this year. I don’t know if it was the “felt like it lasted forever” cold winter, or how much I love the summer trends. Maybe it’s just that I’m excited about everything we have planned. Either way, I’m happy to welcome the new season and I plan to enjoy every minute of it!
Today, in collaboration with one of our favorite local stores, Ferne Boutique, a couple of other lovely Michigan bloggers and myself are kicking off summer with posts on style, beauty and drinks.
I’m talking a bit of beauty and am excited to share some new-to-me products with you. The Damn Fancy brand is carried at Ferne Boutique and their story is pretty cool. The owners were friends with some local craft brewers and they learned that a lot of the ingredients in their beers were just thrown away after a part of the brewing process, when they were actually still useful. They ended up creating both the Damn Fancy and Damn Handsome (grooming products for men) lines with ingredients like Brewer’s Yeast, oats, hops, barley and wheat, all of which are packed with vitamins, antioxidants and proteins.
My favorite Damn Fancy products are the hair serum and face serum.
The hair serum is a great product for adding softness and shine. I will spray mine on dry, styled hair as a finishing spray. It also smells really good, like a light floral scent (not beer smelling as you may think!) and the mist is so light, so there’s no weighing down your hair with it.
The face serum is a great face oil to have in your beauty cabinet. It’s lightweight but provides a nice amount of moisture with avocado oil, hops and seaweed extract. It also has rose in it and that’s what the oil smells like, so it’s heavenly! It’s a really great, simple product to include in your beauty routine. It’s especially good for a moisture boost for after being outside in the sun.
I also have to mention this maxi dress I’m wearing, which is from Ferne, as well. It’s so flowy and soft that you’ll want to live in it all summer long. The embroidery detail is so pretty and it’s a great travel dress. I may even end up pairing it with some cowboy boots when we’re out in Wyoming later this summer!
And if you missed your size in this one, don’t worry, there are TONS of other fabulous dresses in store right now so you’re sure to find one that you love.
