One of the things that came out of the Spring Reader Survey was that you wanted to know a little bit more about me, personally. So I’m going to do my best to be a little bit more open and share more with you all, and include some more personal posts here and there.
To kick off that sharing, I thought I would do a quick list of 10 things you may not know about me. If you’ve been following for a long time, you may already know some of these things but hopefully at least a couple of them are new to you.
I am a secret super hero fan // My husband got me hooked on the Avengers movies and the Marvel universe and I’m truly fascinated by how all the stories intertwine.
My husband and I were married at Disney World // I grew up going to Disney World and it was only natural that we chose that as our wedding location. We’ve taken our kids back and shown them (Jackson especially) where we were married and it’s pretty cool to be able to do that.
I can play the piano // My mom grew up playing the piano and had me in lessons for years. Even when I don’t play for a while, I do enjoy sitting back down and seeing how quickly it comes back.
I have a Master’s Degree // I have an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and I focused my degree on entrepreneurship and marketing. I also met Clint there on our first day of MBA orientation.
I have naturally curly/wavy hair. And it’s a mess. // I’ll probably never do a hair tutorial because it takes me so long (and it’s probably so inefficient) to get my hair smooth and the way I want it.
To follow up on the previous one, the beauty product I cannot live without is Aveda Naturally Straight // I love this whole line. It has taken my dry time down to maybe 30 minutes, which is HUGE progress for me.
I used to have a Cindy Crawford-esqe mole on my upper lip // I had this removed almost 8 years ago now, and sometimes in photos you can see the scar. It’s not super noticeable but I don’t ever photoshop it out.
I’m a really good cook but a terrible baker // With cooking you don’t have to be quite as precise, which is why I like it better, and probably why I’m better at it. Everything I bake is ugly. It usually doesn’t taste bad, but it’s ugly!
As a general rule, I hate fruit but love vegetables // I’ve gotten better with eating fruit because I know it’s good for me. Otherwise, it’s a texture thing and there are just some fruits that I can’t get over that squishy, seedy texture!
The blog is not my only job // I actually also own a marketing consulting company, as well! I focus on social media and digital marketing for small businesses. I love being an entrepreneur and I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to work for myself and the challenge to grow two businesses and be a mom at the same time. Thankfully I also love being busy!
Thank you to all of you who took the time to fill out the Spring Reader Survey and for all of you who take the time every day to read the HSS feed. I’ve been so fortunate to be able to make this blog a business and do what I love every single day, and that’s wouldn’t be possible without all of your love and support throughout the years.
