In case you hadn’t noticed (see last Monday’s post), apparently I have a thing with vests. It’s true, I do. I actually think they’re the perfect casual layer and I find myself wanting a new one every winter. I haven’t purchased a new faux fur vest in several years because I actually don’t wear them very often. I sort of like the sportier look (surprising considering how NOT sporty I actually am) when it comes to this particular layer.
While last week’s ridiculously awesome rose gold vest was for wearing out and about. This Patagonia vest is one that I wanted to pick up mostly for wearing around the house and layering over my go-to workout long sleeve tops. It adds warmth without bulk and that’s exactly what I need for when I’m home working or even here playing with the boys. I also thought it may be good for layering on top of my base layer tops for when we go skiing, depending on how cold it is.
In case you’re vest shopping, here are a few more that I’m a big fan of:
- This is another Patagonia vest that I have on my wish list. It’s super lightweight but very warm. It’s a great option if you live in a warmer weather state and don’t need quite as much layering.
- I also have this The North Face vest and it’s a great simple puffer vest. It’s not my favorite for layering, but it’s great for quick trips out for errands and such.
- This long vest is from the same brand as the rose gold one I wore last week, Blanc Noir. I love the length and the fact that it comes with a hood. Perfect layering piece!
- I know a lot of people have and like the J.Crew vests, but I’ve never had one to say for myself whether they’re warm or not. I do like the plaid versions that are out this year, especially the red one (blue one here).
