As summer is (sort of sadly) coming to an end, I’m focusing my beauty routine on moisturizing products so that I’m in good habits for fall and winter when things get a little drier as we get the heat going again. Today I wanted to share some of my late summer beauty favorites to keep the summer glow going well into fall:
Le Metier de Beaute Anti-Aging Hand Creme // Since I had Dylan (and with Jackson’s non-stop messes and food requests), I feel like I am constantly washing my hands. And with all that washing, they’ve gotten pretty dry so I’ve been trying my best to regularly use a hand cream. This one from Le Metier de Beaute is my favorite right now because it has a few things you don’t often find in hand creams. It has SPF 50. I don’t know about you all but when I apply sunscreen, I usually don’t do my hands so having it built into this product makes it easy to get your hands covered, without feeling like you’re wearing sunscreen. Like all Le Metier de Beaute products, this one is also a hard working treatment. It has vitamins A, C and E, along with ingredients for brightening and soothing. So you’re keeping your hands protected and younger looking, all while moisturizing. Put this one in your purse and never leave home without it!
Le Metier de Beaute Vital ET Recovery Boost – Body // When I first got this product, I was told it would give you the “J.Lo Effect” when you use it on your legs, so I was obviously immediately excited to start using it. The key ingredient is Vitamin E and the product (which feels like a very lightweight lotion and has a SUPER mild and light scent) is meant to be reparative and soothing. I like to use Vital ET Recovery Boost especially after shaving my legs, on days where I’m going out in shorts or a skirt or a photo shoot day for the blog. When I do use it, I really do notice a soft glow that almost seems to blur any imperfections! I’ve also used it after a little bit of sunburn on my shoulders and I’ve found it to be very soothing there too.
There’s also a Vital ET product for your face, which I’ve used on an allergic reaction or after a sunburn and it’s very soothing. It’s like a big boost of Vitamin E and when I’ve used it, I’ll notice a difference in about a day.
Clarins Self Tanning Milky Lotion // As you can probably tell from every photo I post on the blog, I am very pale. I tanned a lot when I was in high school and even more when I was at college in Florida, but these days I do as little sun as I possibly can. I’m the one at the pool with a huge sun hat, rashguard and SPF 50+ all day long. It’s all to prevent skin cancer and to keep my skin healthy (and to prevent wrinkles/damage in general).
That being said, I do want to have SOME tan so I’ve been trying a few new self tanners. I have always liked Clarins products for sun protection and self tanning and I just started using this Self Tanning Milky Lotion this summer. I like this one because it is really moisturizing (I use it at night, especially on my legs, and wear dark PJ pants to prevent any transfer to our sheets) and it doesn’t have the “self-tanner” smell that I remember some products having. It smells like figs which actually gives it a more luxurious feel. I plan on using this one well into fall and winter!
TULA Urban Defense Hydrating Mist // This is the latest TULA product I’ve tried and it has been awesome for summer! It is a very light mist spray with rose water, coconut water and hyaluronic acid for calming and hydrating the skin. I really like to use it after spending outside with the boys where I’ve been wearing sunscreen and need a refresh after washing my face. It’s also something I use after a workout, and right before I go to bed (on clean skin). From the smell of the product to the feel of it, everything is really light and just gives a boost of glow and moisture! I’m a fan – this is a great one for your gym bag, at your desk or in your diaper bag all year long!
