Wow, it feels like I took a little blog break there for a few days (because I did) and I may forever be catching up. I’m actually out of town through tomorrow working on a really fun project for a Midwest-based brand and I’m excited to share more about that with you all soon (follow me on Snapchat (ninarand) to see some BTS details!).
First of all, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who have responded to the reader survey I sent out last week. The feedback has been incredible so far and it SO helpful to know what you all like best and what you want to see for the coming season. If you haven’t filled it out yet, I would still love to hear from you. The survey closes on September 1 and I will be giving out three $10 Starbucks gift cards to randomly selected respondents.
Now, back to school just right around the corner and my first trip away from Dylan, so this Mommy Monday is coming at a time where I’ve got tons of mom-related things on my mind. I’m so fortunate that, with working on the blog and with my marketing business (with the support of my amazing husband), I have the flexibility to take on cool projects like I’m doing right now and be away for a few days. That flexibility has also allowed me to stay at home with Dylan since he was born, which I loved much more than I expected to. He starts daycare in just a couple of weeks and I have to admit I’m a little anxious about the changes to come and I will really miss our days together.
I swear I used to be more adaptable to change but this second child has made changes to ME that I’m so not used to. I’m going to do my best to embrace this, but don’t be surprised if things are a little slow around here for a week or so while I get my bearings and again find a new normal for our family.
So anyway, on a lighter note, onto today’s look…
I could not be more ready for fall! I want cooler weather, boots, pumpkin spiced anything and sweaters upon sweaters (remind me I said that in January). Since we’re a little ways away from that, I’m trying to at least “transition” to bringing out some new fall pieces, just like this sweater from the Sail to Sable fall collection. This sweater is the coziest cashmere, but is actually light enough to wear now. I’ll probably layer a tank or buttondown underneath and switch out the jeans and heels to skinnies tucked into boots when it gets cooler.
By the way, my husband hated these jeans when I brought them home. They were way too ripped up for his liking. But when he did the photos for this post I think he was surprised that he actually didn’t mind them.
As usual on #MommyMonday, I’m partnering with my favorite blogger mamas who are also sharing their favorite pieces from the Sail to Sable fall collection and you can find them all here:
