I often refer to gingham as “that picnic print” and, truthfully, it always reminds me of the red and white tablecloth that my grandfather would have out at spaghetti dinners at his house.
It seems as if gingham has grown up a bit this spring. It’s made its way from tablecloths and picnic blankets to every possible clothing item you might want. I’ve been loving this buttondown shirt in bright neon colors, this dress is stunning, this top is perfect to pair with jeans for date night and these shoes are just the thing to punch up your most simple looks.
You all know how much I love my Kiki Lynn dresses (see here and here), and when the Spring collection included a sleeveless version in a preppy navy gingham, I was really excited to add it to my collection. I always feel that the dresses are super well made and I know they’re going to be classic styles that I can reach for season after season.
I love this sleeveless gingham version of the shirtdress for easy weekend wear, adding a denim jacket for chilly nights. You could also easily throw on a blazer or cardigan for workdays.
How are you styling your gingham this spring?
