Patio Season

With the exception of this past (rainy) weekend, we have been so happy to be spending as much time as possible out on our patio. Last year we did the first phase of our yard renovation, which included: taking down 7 (giant) nearly-dead trees, adding a sprinkler system, re-grading the yard, adding a patio and fire pit, and doing some landscaping around the house. We were definitely off to a great start but this year is a little bit more fun because we’re adding more landscaping and dressing up our patio with furniture and working on making it an extension of our living space.

Because we tend to be overplanners, I put together a little floor plan (and a detailed spreadsheet) to show Clint what I was thinking of doing. I picked several items from World Market because they’ve got a great variety of furniture and decor styles at really great prices and I know I can count on them to have lots of colors! They’re also always good for a fantastic promo, including up to 30% off of select outdoor items right now. Plus, through Tuesday, May 12, get $50 off of $250 (use the code HOORAYMAY for this one).

We had 3 priorities when getting things set up:

  1. Dining Space // If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen that we have our grill and smoker going nearly every weekend (and a couple of nights during the week), so we need to have a little table space for eating outside.
  2. Relaxing Space // Clint plans on getting some sort of outdoor TV thing (I honestly have no idea what he actually wants, so I guess I’ll see when it shows up), and we hope to have friends over for lots of playdates, so we’re looking for a spot to sit, relax and enjoy the view!
  3. Color! // Our house is white and our patio is gray, so it’s definitely time to make things a little more interesting out there! I love the coral and turquoise combination, especially these drum tables, bright striped pillows and cool lanterns for citronella candles at night.
