So I mentioned it a while back and you may have seen on Instagram that we went to Park City last weekend for the Sundance Film Festival and some skiing with a very fun group of friends. Park City is one of our favorite places and it was so nice to head back out there and get a little grown-ups (if we can call ourselves that) only vacation. I wanted to share some highlights of the trip, including some new favorites, here on the blog so here it goes, watch for lots of photos ahead!
Skiing: We skied two of the four days we were in town and both of them were at Deer Valley Resort. We love skiing at Deer Valley for the views, the amount of green and blue level trails and you can always find a good lunch or apres ski spot. They also don’t allow snowboarders, so if you ski and only ski, that’s a huge plus. On this trip, our favorite apres ski spot was the Stein Eriksen Lodge, which you can ski right into from Deer Valley. The hot pretzels are good and they always have great drinks.
Food Favorites: The food on this trip was SO good! We cooked at the house on a couple of nights, but when we went out, we went all out. On Friday night we went to Burgers & Bourbon at the Montage Deer Valley where we (sat near Gwyneth Paltrow and…) had the most amazing wagyu beef nachos, gourmet burgers, fancy fries (hello truffle parmesan) and some seriously delicious milkshakes, including roasted s’more with a spike of Baileys. Clint and I also had lunch at the Montage on Sunday, where the Skier’s Buffet at Apex is to die for. We also snacked and sipped cocktails at the St. Regis Deer Valley one evening.
Things to Do: During Sundance there is a lot going on both in town and at the hotels. Our first night there we went to the Stella Artois party in town. The next night, we made our way over to the Montage Deer Valley where we ate at Burgers & Bourbon and stuck around for a concert. The Montage runs a concert series Live! At The Montage during Sundance and we saw Scott Weiland (From Stone Temple Pilots in case you didn’t know. I had no idea.) and band perform. On Saturday, we headed back to Salt Lake City to see a Sundance Film Festival screening in the documentary category. It’s always interesting to go to a film and see the passion that the filmmakers have for the stories they tell. One of these years, I’d love to get festival passes and spend a little more film time.
At the film: Mara Hoffman Camel Duster (on sale!) // J.Crew Chambray Shirt // J Brand Jeans c/o Neiman Marcus // Rag & Bone Booties // Kendra Scott Earrings (similar) // Ray-Ban Sunglasses // Prada Bag
