Beauty Update: August

This is a beauty update that I am really excited to share because I’m really loving all of the products that I have to share with you. There’s a lot of skincare in this one, because that’s really been my main focus lately. I’ll try to work on adding some more color before I do my September and October updates, because fall is going to be so pretty for fashion and beauty.

Patchology Energizing Eye Patches: So I’ve mentioned before, but I’ve officially made Sunday nights my “pampering night” and I try take a little extra time to get ready for the week. One of my favorite things to do is a mask and these little eye patches are an easy, 20 minute, energizing mask for the area below your eyes. I’ve done this twice and you really do see results right away with smoothing, plus it really is just refreshing for your skin.

LiftLab Lift & Moisturize Daily Cream: This is my new daily moisturizer, and after using it for a few weeks, I really, really like it. It’s is very smooth, light, absorbs quickly and makes my skin feel great. There is lots of great firming and skin-strengthening power in this product and I’m liking the results so far. I do wish there was an SPF in the moisturizer (I’m pairing it with this daily sunscreen), but otherwise it is a fantastic product.

PMD Personal Microderm: This is another Sunday night pampering tool for me. I love getting a microdermabrasion and getting rid of all the dead skin, but I feel like I always forget to schedule one or don’t have time to, and this thing does an awesome job at home. It scrubs up really well and I didn’t feel like I was red or irritated after using it. I’m also hoping that regular use will help soften and fade a scar from a mole removal on my upper lip, but I haven’t done it enough yet to see a change. I do like how my products feel on my skin after using the PMD though, it really feels like they can do their job even better.

Sjal Eye Cream: I feel like I’m always looking for a good or better eye cream, anyone else? This one from Sjal Skincare is a winner for sure. I keep mine in the refrigerator to increase the cooling and depuffing (as recommended by the brand). It is lifting, firming and super hydrating. There is actually a massage application that you can do, as well, and I try to do that at night, when I have more time, and I think it’s working. Want to try this one for yourself? Head over to Facebook to find out how!

Essie Nail Polish: On this one, I just wanted to share my two favorite colors right now. I’ve been wearing Clambake on my toes and Marshmallow on my fingernails. I like a light and a bright. I also am looking forward to bringing out my all-time favorite color for fall.

Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge: I know I just talked about this one last week but it is worth another mention because it is awesome. Seriously. Awesome. The coverage is like foundation but it is lighter, gives you a great glow AND has an anti-aging treatment in it, so it’s a really hard-working product. I use Shade 2 and it’s a nice, warm color. I think this product, combined with the LiftLab moisturizer and my “Sunday pampering” is going to be a great combo.

Oribe Moisturizing Cream: I’ve actually been using this one for a while but I just started using it in a different way, so I thought I would include it. I was using this cream as part of my pre-blow dry routine (along with this heat protectant and this oil), but now I’ve been using it to smooth out my frizz after drying and curling. It’s very light and moisturizing and weighs my hair down just enough to be smooth but not enough to be greasy.

One last thing. On my last beauty update, I mentioned the new Aveda Naturally Straight product and that I hadn’t yet used it 5 consecutive times to determine its effectiveness. Well, now I have and I am happy to sing the praises of this one! It really does help my speed up my blowouts and my hair is smoother than usual when I’m done drying. I won’t say that it’s perfect, because it isn’t and I’m also terrible at doing an at-home blowout, but it is 100% worth a try!

I’d love to know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you think. Also let me know what your favorites are, I’m always looking for new products to try!
