Giveaway: Olga Ganoudis

Happy Monday! You all know how much I love to start the week off with a giveaway and, thanks to the wonderful Olga Ganoudis, this is one of those great weeks. Olga creates really beautiful pieces of jewelry from very natural stones and materials, including a collection inspired by and created especially for the show LOST. She also currently designs pieces for the show Game of Thrones.

I had the opportunity ask Olga a few questions about her inspiration and her current favorites and she shared the following with me:

How did you get started in designing and creating your business?

I used to work in the airline industry and was travelling a lot. I was always buying jewelry wherever we went and thought, "I'd love to make it." I enrolled at the Philadelphia College of Art and began making jewelry. I fell in love with it. I started selling at craft shows and the more jewelry I sold, the more equipment I would buy. Eventually I rented a studio.

Do you have a favorite stone or material to work with?

Right now it's labradorite, pyrite and druzy. I also love pearls.

Where do you find inspiration for new collections and pieces?

Everywhere. I love textures and using combinations of textures. I take my camera with me wherever I go, take lots of photos and bring them back to the studio to look through. 

What brings happiness, success and style into your life?

Doing what I love and loving who I'm with brings both happiness and success in my life. I think it's simple to be happy but most of us make everything more complicated. In terms of style, I love fashion. I love looking for new designers and new products, anything different and unique.
